Many moons ago, certainly in another decade and almost definitely under another Chancellor, village pubs could survive by selling you beer, which was pretty much what they were all about. Today, that's not the case and so, towards the end of 2007, Mark and Ali closed the pub's ageing kitchen and spent three weeks installing a new, modern, stainless steel solution.
Now, we offer food seven days a week (see left for our serving times) and all meals are individually prepared for our customers*. The Tharp Arms is a traditional village pub and we strive to maintain its reputation as one. As such our menu offers typical pub fayre including burgers, home-made chilli, fish and chips, as well as light-bites, home-made specials and a children's menu. On Sunday's we offer a traditional home-cooked roast meal with all the trimmings and on Thursday nights our meal-deal is a 12" pizza and a pint for just £7.00.
Our staff are all fully trained and have achieved the appropriate certification in health & hygiene required by people handling food - not, of course, that you'll see any of this because hopefully you'll be enjoying the mood and the environment in our recently redecorated dining area or bars.
To find out more about what's on our menu simply pop along or give us a call. All the details are on our contacts page.
* we endeavour to serve all our meals to customers in a timely fashion but as all meals are individually prepared delays can occur at busy times.
